What is your favorite quote?

Quote:
In memory of your mom:

IF WISHES WERE HORSES

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.
If turnips were watches, I would wear one by my side.
And if "ifs" and "ands"
Were pots and pans,
There'd be no work for tinkers!

Equine chick, - that quote from Walt Disney made me thing of this one:

"Disneyworld, a people trap built by a mouse"

I don't know who said it but it is SO true!

I have two:

"It's better to be alone than to wish you were." ~ Ann Landers from 15 years ago! I remind my single friends of that when they want to get married so badly, and my married friends who are miserable but are terrified of being single...

" Remember to accept joy in the face of adversity " ~ From a Fortune Cookie that is now in a frame, and has been my motto for the last 9 years. After surviving tremendous medical challenges with my son, including 2 open heart surgeries and a year in an ICU, I have realized that even in the depths of despair, you can choose to see the miracles.... Even when everything is going wrong, you can see the blessings..... Even if you can't see them, know that you will be able to look back and see them later.....Be open to even the tineiest bits of joy that may come your way, it is there, you just have to be accepting of it.

I don't have a favorite but my license plate cover says..."My Irish Setter can Lick your Honor Student"....does that count?

It is short for quotation. It is a person's exact words as repeated by another person. Famous quotes are usually extracts from speeches or texts by well known people.

"We shall not fail or falter; we shall not weaken or tire. Give us the tools and we will finish the job" - Winston Churchill

"We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail" -George W. Bush
