What is your favorite quote?

Anyday above ground is a good day.

An dear woman who turned 100 on 09/17/007 responded with that when I asked her if she was having a good day.

I have many, many favorites, but an all-time one is the Schweitzer quote I always have in my sign-off. Nobody wants to hear about the atrocities and suffering that take place in the world, but that doesn't mean these things aren't happening! If we ignore that they are happening, nothing ever gets better.

I also like when Yoda says to Luke Skywalker "Try again", and Luke says "I can't. You ask the impossible". Yoda replies "And that is why you fail."

Has somebody been reading the Tao of Pooh? This quote is Lao-Tse

The Following are all from Illusions by Richard Bach:

Learning is finding out what you already know. Doing is demonstrating that you know it. Teaching is reminding others that they know just as well as you. You are all learners, doers, and teachers.

Remember where you came from, where you're going, and why you created the mess you got yourself into in the first place.

You are never given a wish without being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however.
Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours.

The mark of your ignorance is the depth of your belief in injustice and tragedy. What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.

YES!
Pooh just is. Such a cool easy going way to try and understand taoism, I loved that book.
I also Love Illusions, I had an old copy of it that I read to death and my grandmother gave me a new one for Christmas last year. It was the best gift I got. And if you like those you should try siddhartha by Herman Hess.

As I was reading trough this I was reminded of what my uncle said at my grandfathers funeral a couple of years ago.

"Point the bars left, and throttle on man throttle on." -- Uncle Pug
Then the preacher said, appropriately, Amen.

(My grandfather was a flat track racer.)

This is my favorite quote, and it is age appropiate, ...its funny also.

"I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades...or a game of fake heart attack."

Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the bible says love your enemy.
-- Frank Sinatra

Well its not really a quote but I find it pretty funny!

This is quote from my County Animal Control Officer. I thought it was pretty funny and I never forgot it. She owns and loves chickens. While she was advising me on the importance of securely fastening the coop door shut she said, "If raccoons had thumbs they would rule the planet."

This is a great thread!

Let's see...I can't remember who said it..."Most of us want to be delivered from sin, but would like for it to keep in touch".

And.."True worth and untarnished valor neither picks up nor lays down the axes at the fickle mobs behest" I think this is from Horace.

And from a friend of mine's grandfather. When the friend was about 6. "Son, you won't understand this right now, but remember, don't sweat the petty stuff, pet the sweaty stuff".
