What is your favorite rooster breed and why?

Our Roo, Hagrid< is a blue laced Red Wyndotte who is a fantastic house husband. He is also first out to check all around the coop, he makes the nest (spend an hour on it) and dust bowls, clucks for the ladies to come for food, even coos at them while they are laying. Our dog seperated him once, and he freaked out until the hens were returned to him. He is gentle to kids and people as well, but a ready defender if needed!

I have had two roos. My favorite is apparently Welsumner/RIR He is big and beautiful and never aggressive with anybody. My grandkids play in the yard and he is fine with them. He is good to his ladies and protective of them.

My number two roo was Ameracauna/RIR and he was mean to every body that came in my yard. I had to find him a new home.

I've had a silkie roo, an ee roo, a new hampshire roo, and right now I have a phoenix roo.

The phoenix I have now is a real gentleman. He never holds the girls down when he mates, he only crows in the morning, and he feeds the babies, I've even seen him scoping out nesting areas too. He always runs away from me, and when I throw him treats he always calls over a hen and feeds them. He makes alarms when there is something new in the yard, he has never been agressive toward any other animals or me or my kids. I can go on and on about him, he is really great.

I've never had a roo but I have thought about it and someday I want a EE roo. I know it's a mixed bag of genetics so I'll probably have to re-home or stew some before I find on with the right temperment but I just think they're beautiful! All those different colors!
