What is your worst layer chicken breed?

Mine lays at least 6 eggs a week

There seems to be quite a bit of variation in egg production in Brahmas from different lines. Mine come from show birds so were not bred for production.

Cuckoo Marans for us. Our in laws ordered some from McMurrays & then gave them to us. They have had the same diet as all of our other birds including fruit & veggie scraps, scrambled eggs, shells, herbs & free ranging. I imagine it was due to where they were sourced from & have considered purchasing another flock from elsewhere...but the last remaining hen from them has never laid us an egg...and she's the bully...not the victim in her run.

My little flock of six have only been laying for 4 weeks, and the past one just started 3 days ago, so it's hard to say who our "worst" layer is.

I was expecting it to be my Cookies and Cream hybrid, Artemis. She was the last to start, and has had the smallest egg so far. But so far it looks like she may be an every other day layer. And we mostly got her for her looks anyway.

Right now I think my vote for "worst" layer goes to my cream legbar, Bibu. She probably started laying on Oct 31, but before that she developed a swollen abdomen that we suspect was related to laying. She had fluid in her abdomen for a few weeks and I thought we were going to have to put her down, but this week she seems to have made a miraculous turn around. I suspect we've gotten 3 eggs from her since she started laying. I'm ok with her not laying regularly, but I'm really hoping the abdominal fluid doesn't become a habit!
