Some of you may or may not know Me, but I've been gone on a little hiatus for 4 to 6 months now, and thanks to the kindness of the mod's I'm back. I had a few PM's in my inbox from some months ago, and apparenlty some of you have wondered where I've been. Well here is an update.
I started showing in September and showed all the way through the end of January. My birds took me to the Silkie Nationals competition in Shawnee Oklahoma in December, amongst many other places, and we had a GREAT show season. I've been working on my Lavender lines and its going very well so far. I've got a lot of black/lavender splits in the grow out pen, and I hope to be hatching my own lavender lines in June/July.
Life has also been going good, despite a few setbacks like our truck being stolen, my partner loosing his job, and being severly over worked AT work due to a short staff situation. I've managed to quit drinking totally and its been six months now, and I've started eating healthy and exercising. I've even joined the gym, gotten a personal trainer and I'm down 20 pounds and am well on my way to "Gettin' Fine In '09!"
I've truly missed the commraderie and information here on BYC, and I'm extremely grateful to be back. Below are a few new pictures of my birds.
Here is my RV Buff pullet. She was second to George Mihalik's pullet, which was truly an honor for me! George is probably the best breeder of Silkies in the nation.
And here is some pictures of my black/lavender splits. They are developing exceptionally nice, and I'm very pleased. If all goes according to plan, I should be hatching full lavenders in June/July.
And here is my buff family on an outing. They were allowed to playin the grass for the day since they did so well at the shows this past season. They'll be happy to know that they just got a new EXTRA LARGE 12x6x6 play pen, I've just got to get it set up!
So I guess that will do it for this update. As I've said before, I'm glad to be back, and thanks again to the mod's. I look forward to catching up with some friends whom I haven't heard from in some time now.
Take care!
The end!
