C87FA9EF-7DB2-411F-9C87-9CC0FD810D8B.jpeg need some opinions here. Been losing a few chickens, it’s never more than one per day. Just find the feathers, but no body. No blood either. It has been at the edges of my property, a couple in the pine trees and one in the field. Some I havent even found the feathers for. I took a pic of the most recent feathers left behind. We are kind of out in the open. Not many trees besides a little patch of small pines.
*edit- it’s also something that can’t get into the coop. Any time they are locked in there, they are fine. They’re now on lockdown until we catch this predator.

My guess would be a fox.
Do you have a run to secure your flock in?

Just edited my post to reflect that. They are locked in their run now.

Sneeky, ruthless and fast as lightening! The fox! I would love to free-range my girls, but no. Hardware cloth installed correctly works perfectly keeping the hens safe.hope you figure it out and no more disappear!

I would think it was likely a fox or a coyote. :hmm
