What killed my chickens

I’m uncertain what killed 8 of my birds? I’ve got a 16 / 24 run for my chickens, with welded dog wire I had something to get in there and kill 8 of my 3 1/2 month old barred rock there was one dead on the ground rest of them were gone ! Just a bunch of feathers all around the outside I f my run! I did find part of a chicken 150 yards from my run partially buried in the ground!?
I’m thinking a red fox? I do have some weak areas around my run . There was couple of places were something tried to dig under fence.

Did this happen at night? did you find 8 of the birds gone at the same time? So sorry for your loss

Yes all 8 where killed at the same time, at night or early morning.

I think you are on the right track with red fox. Possibly coyote but I think less likely if they were all taken at the same time. Where are you located? That might help people.

What is welded dog wire?
Do your chickens have a coop? Do you lock them in this coop at night?
Sooooo many things can dig climb or fly in to a uncovered run and if your birds are not locked up at night, they are very vulnerable after dark.
Chickens have zero night vission and will freeze in place while the carnage happens.

Welded dog wire is the kind of fence you can buy at Lowe’s it has 2 in by 4 in slot s. Yes my chickens stay in a coop , the ones that got killed where young they was still roosting low on the ground.
