What kind?::: Now with pics::::

I know it is hard to give opinions, and I promise I will try to get decent pics later. But maybe you can tell me... what color pattern are chicks that have a grey (blue?) body with yellow heads? I got a few of them in my bantam special from Ideal today and I think they are jsut too cute!

Not sure, but my silvery gray chicks with yellowish tinge (does that make ANY sense?

) are usually Splashes.

Yeah, that usually indicates splash or blue. Hard to say, though - Banties come in a lot of colors.

I only got a few pics, but they represent the majority of the chicks. Any idea would be appreciated. They are from Ideal's Bantam special.

Are they all feather legged? That could narrow it down by a lot.

all look like cochins. I think #2 is a partridge cochin don't know what color the others are.

The first one is a blue or splash, the second one partridge or gold laced, the 3rd one is black or mottled. Agree- all look like cochins. Too cute!

Yes, all of those are feather legged. I only got 6 clean legged ones out of 30. Thanks everyone.

Ok, another question... when can you tell if a chick is blue or splash? Will I have to wait until it gets it's real feathers?

to your last question.....this is only a guess but I would say splash....but I really don't have enough experience with blues and splashes. Any blue I ever had was blue from the start.
