I posted some of these guys at 3 days and good gosh You guys who responded are GOOD!

Now they are 16 days old and I'm curious to see what you think. Also one has grown like crazy is huge compared to the others. He's a whole ounce heavier.

Big Boy Here he is. Cochin bantam? Barred? Rooster?

Thanks. I'm really delighted with them. They were TSC chicks and looked really rough when I brought them home at one day old...

I was thinking b/c the first one got so big that it might go Rooster. S/he also does a lot of chest bumping and posturing. Little comb coming in but still early on that I know.

Anyone know how big bantam barred cochins are supposed to get?

We had two barred cochin chicks and the cockerel got his stripes much earlier than the pullet did. His stripes started showing around 2-3 weeks whereas the pullet was kind of black until 4 or so weeks. So that would imply that yours is a male. She male was also almost twice as heavy as the girl around 4 weeks, at 6 weeks he already weighed way over a pound. (my kids like to weigh chickens...)
