Hey all new to chickens I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the breed of this chicken, and if it's roo or hen. The comb just started to develop and no crowing yet but I'm guessing roo. I got these as a mixed batch of bantams from meyer hatchery. Ordered 10 and 10 lived. But now I'm overrun with roos.

It's either a Barred Rock or Dominique. I don't have the experience with those to know but lots of people here do and someone will let you know.

I agree, depending on it's age, it's a Roo.

They're about 14 weeks old right now. I thought there was a possibility it might be a barred game as well but all of the barred chickens look so similar I get confused. edit, thanks so barred rock roo it is.

Solsken... OOPs! My BAD, I didn't even so much as glance at the legs I was just immediately drawn to the fact that the comb was definately not right for a Dom. My Apologies all around!

I was guessing Old English Game. At least the silkies were easy to guess.

I always forget about Cuckoo Marans. That's the third possibility.

Check out "feathersite.com" and you should be able to figure out what he is.

From the body shape and leg color I think it's more likely he's a game bantam. I don't think Marans come in Bantam. He's a cutie! I think the other is an OEG too and gorgeous.

You're right, silkies are sure easily identified not so easily sexed! Don't have a clue on gender there.
