The rhode I have is a great lad and looks after the lady's very well he is friendly and fab to look at bed of luck

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I agree with amynrichie; if your looking for gentle roosters I would avoid Rhode Island Reds. Over the past few decades, I've had quite a few very aggressive RIR roosters. Although their are always exceptions and a rooster from any breed could be aggressive, generally the most gentle roosters are those of the breeds that have a well deserved reputation for being calm and gentle such as Australorps, Orpingtons, Cochins, Brahmas, Silkies, Sussex, and Faverolles; all of which are potential lap pets.
