Hello. I realize that almost everyone makes their own coops and runs, but I have a question for those of us who don't have such faith in our abilities: If i wanted to look into hiring someone to help me, what "kind" of builder/contractor should I be considering?
I purchased a "kit" for my child and I to make, the CC-79-R1 one on this page: http://cconly.com/coop__hutches/cc-79_series.
I regret the one I got, but it's what I have, I'm stuck with it and have to use it and modify it.
So I have that and can assemble it just fine.
What I want to do is make the kit, then place it on a cinderblock base slightly set into the ground in what would be like a trench so to speak which will both raise it up higher and also decrease digging issues.
Our land is not flat. I'm thinking I need help getting the "trench" dug, the blocks seated, and the whole thing not wonky!

Are there people who help with such projects? How do I find them to request quotes?

Thank you!

You may want to search your local craigslist to see if anyone is selling coops. If so, and they build them themselves then you may be able to hire them.
Here in colorado we have a small custom coop building industry.

Look in your yellow pages or search google for general handymen in your area. What you are looking to do is fairly simple and shouldn't require any specialty contractors. Call them and describe what you want to do. Some will come out to look at what you want to do and quote you from there.

If you can put that coop kit together then you should not have any problems with a simple run. Metal fence posts and some netting will give you a quick and easy run area. If you want something covered and strong then you will need a post hole digger and need to set wood posts. A local fence builder can install a great run in a day or two but it will cost you more that that coop. A handy man, relative, or friend could do this cheaper or help.

Just get yourself some galvanized posts and a roll of chain link. If you have a lot of small predictor, run 1/2" welded wire bury about 4-6" down under ground and few feet up a long the chain link fence. It is easy and I am sure you can do it.

Thank you all!

I made the coop and a small run, I made a predator proof base, and I put it all together. It's ok looking, but it's not level despite my best efforts.
I will indeed look for a handyman to give me an estimate on leveling a dog run to attach to the set up for more run about space.
and I will need to google how to treat mosquito bites because they ate me alive out there!

I wouldn't worry about leveling it. As long as noone's sliding around inside. I swear, even if you build it new, the quality of wood you can get makes building square and level almost impossible.
