What kind of chick is this?

I use a milk crate for my hens. It is about 12x12 I think. My girls do fine with one that size, even my really big australorp.

An easy way to tell if a Bramha chick is a pullet or cockeral is look at their legs. The males will get very thick huge legs and feet very early on. Females will have thinner smaller legs. I don't know if this would be true with a Brahma cross or not.

Hard to tell from the photos if it's a boy or girl yet... you'll see dark green tail feathers come in, and the hackle and saddle feathers will start to spike at about 10-12 weeks. Thick stocky legs, too. The comb/wattles are hard to tell because they're small in both boys and girls, but the boy's will start coming in bigger and darker red. The leg feathering is really light... could be a mix, or could just be light feathering. I've had a few hatch that way. But that's DEFINITELY not a sebright... sorry.

I guess I will post more pics in a few weeks to try and determine the sex because I don't know if I could tell by the featering. Where I live we aren't allowed to have roosters. If she does happen to be a he at what age will they start to crow. I hope She isn't a he because shes quite friendly and being that we only have 3 chicks we have became quite attached to all of them. I hate living in town.

Get some side body shots, comb/wattle shots, and if you can, a closeup of the saddle feathers right at the base of the tail, and hackle feathers.
