I think he had Dixie rainbow blood in him, he sure looks like it and he seems rather large for his ageHe's a Legbar crossed with something else. Definitely not a Mille Fleur pattern, which is a type of spangling. This bird has fragmented barring, and a small tassel behind his comb, which is why I think it has Legbar blood rather than Bielefelder.
That could well be. He does look like them.I think he had Dixie rainbow blood in him, he sure looks like it and he seems rather large for his age
Dixie Rainbows come in many colors. They are a hatchery made breed, so I dont believe they are recongnized. Legbar and biefielder roos tend to have consistent barring.I think he had Dixie rainbow blood in him, he sure looks like it and he seems rather large for his age
Do you have current pictures? Knowing if he really has a crest or not will help determine his breed. These pictures (including the first one I posted) are a little while ago and he’s lost the fluffs around his neck and has one or two stringy feathers growing around his comb
He’s barred, not mottled (mottling is what causes the white spots in mille fleur d’uccles).Looks to have the mille fleur patterning and colours, maybe a cross bred D'uccle of some sort
I agree. Barring is when theres restricted coloring, restricting the colors intermittently. Mottled is recessive and restricts black from being on the tip of each feather. He’s barred, not mottled (mottling is what causes the white spots in mille fleur d’uccles).
