What kind of chicken should I get?

Maybe sell off the chickens you have now and get chicks when you get your new coop. You’ll be able to hand raise the chicks and they will be friendly. Just a thought.

thats an amazing idea, how do they handle are they skiddish?

I think my buckeye is my daughter's favorite. They are well mannered and are average layers.

I'm gonna add, now that I'm reading through, that I suggest Buckeye's as a breed, but that if your having behavior issues, you may have space issues. I'd take a serious look at your current poultry arrangements and see if you actually have room to grow, or if you need to add room. My Buckeye is well mannered, but she does get grumpy if I don't let them out to free range. They like lots of space, and since you have a mixed flock, you can't open the gate to let them out for a spell if you have quail and pheasant mixed in. Those birds will just up and fly away.

As in mix quail, Pheasants, And chickens in together? That's a recipe for disaster. Both the quails And pheasants will need separate coops. The quail are far too small to be kept with pheasants or chickens and the chickens will easily transfer diseases to your Pheasants if you keep them in with them.

they arnt mixed , we where gonna mix quail and phesant, but not anymore, I also just relised that chickens arnt the best idea for the flock, so I would be getting a smaller 2 chicken coop for me and my girl

We will probable have to cull our Little black hen nubbie (our americuna) she is really old, not sure if we should sell her as a pet they arnt people chickens, but she isnt laying and My father dosnt want her
