What kind of Cochin? **PICS ADDED**

its a black cochin. the white will dissapear. its not birchin, or cuckoo/barred. looks just like mine did as a chick. it dont have any grey on its chest like birchin cochins do. and it has alot of white which lost of black birds do. My vote is solid black.

If that bird turns out Black then it wont be solid Black. Any Black bird that feathers in with any other color to it stays that color. if it has white now, it will have white as an adult. Black Cochins chicks may hatch with a mix of black and white down, but the feathers will be all black with no smutt of any other color. The fact that the bird has white in more than just one concentrated area suggest as well that it is a Mottled and not Black. By 6 weeks of age you will know for sure as Mottled birds will have a great deal of white on their body and will keep this and molt it out as they mature. Thats why as a Mottled bird gets older the white comes in more every time the bird molts. The bird may even be solid black as a juvenile and part of its adult life, but as it ages the mottling will appear over the bird more with each molt.

I am sorry, everyone, but I no longer have her. I am limited on the number of birds I can have and I really wanted silver-laced so I did not keep her.

Thank you so much for all the help! We will never know what she is but we know she wasn't silver laced. :)
