We found this in our yard already dead. It has claws like a mole and is about as big a football.

It's sort of hard to see. Does it have beaver like teeth? Maybe a Nutria or Muscrat?

I vote Muskrat but it is hard to tell.

Thanks everyone!! It dosn't appear to have a tail or maybe just a little bushy fur. It might have gotten bitten off. It does have buck teeth and feet for digging but its face is cute unlike a mole. The nutria picture looks about right without the tail. My husband just got home and thinks it might be a gopher with its tail bitten off. We've had plenty of moles but I've never seen a gopher.

    Thanks again
