What kind of dishwasher do you have?

Apparently, that Kitchenaid is not being sold anymore since all I can find with that model # are manuals and replacement parts. Darn.

That surprised me but it looks like they have changed some of their models. Check out model number KUDL03IVWH, looks just like mine and has all the same features.

When I bought my last dishwasher this is what I did...

Mine broke and I ordered the replacement parts and tried to repair it to no avail. (Kneeling down, disassembling a dishwasher at 5 months pregnant was really fun, too.) At this point I had been 2 weeks without a dishwasher and I HATE handwashing dishes, my counters were covered with dishes and I was sick of the whole mess.

I walked into Sears and started browsing the dishwasher section. My husband took the kids to go look at stuff. As soon as a salesperson approached me and asked what I needed, I just flat out said, "I need a dishwasher to take home tonight. I can't spend over $250. What do you have in the back in the scratch and dent section?" He went back there and found a $499 dishwasher with a dented kick-plate on the bottom that he sold me for $239. We loaded it in the minivan and I installed it as soon as we got home. My husband hammered out the dent in the kickplate.

It works great and I love it.

We have a Bosch. It is awesome!!!!!!!! Don't have a heating element but has a heating coil. Is energy star...It sanitizes...has cleanable filters..The water gets so hot that it dries almost immediately...stainless steel inside...

I have an Asko, and I'd have to advise against this brand, although they may have improved since my model was purchased. Some people have even had them to catch fire. The likelihood for need for repair is high. We had a repairman come three times and many repairmen won't work on this brand. We found out that a saying among repairmen is, "Asko? Oh, no!"

We have a Kenmore Quiet Guard Ultra Wash Standard. We bought it from Sears with the extended warranty, but haven't needed it. It seems dishwashers don't go wrong nearly as often as washing machines, the old one here when we moved in was fine and over ten years old, but we'd already bought a new one. Even our well water can't kill it. It has handy teflon racks that cannot crack and rust.

Sears have 20% of all Kenmores at the moment, and 10% off other brands.
