TSC's 4health for puppies. Getting ready to switch to Diamond Brand Naturals for large breed puppies; it's identical to the 4health, but a bit less expensive.
It has no corn, soy or wheat.
The boys get beef or chicken almost daily.
Treats are homemade liver baits and/or sweet potato and chicken "cookies".

Iams Large Breed or Iams Lamb & Rice. We used to feed Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice, which I HIGHLY recommend, but we had to switch to something cheaper.

Our dog does well on Iams, and she likes it.

You can get it at Walmart, pet stores, and probably a lot of farm stores. The other day my Mom got a 48lb (new size, I think) at Walmart for $33 or $34. It was on sale, I think. The regular price was probably $36-$40.

I use canidae because, of all the food I've tried (and the list has been long) this is the ONLY one thus far that has prevented my mutts (that are part olde english bulldog, jack russel, and sheltie) from being so gaseous that they were hard to be around. We also give probiotics, and supplement with raw meaty bones.

Hooray for relatively fart-free house dogs. The coat quality is also excellent on this food. On the Wellness the mutts were very gaseous.

We buy hamburger patties from costco, mix it in with a cooked egg or two and whatever vegys I have cooked. She has free choice kirkland crunchys, but like humans, she prefers REAL food. She is a Bernese Mountain dog with a big appetite. And homemade seems to keep her going and the eggs give her a nice shiny coat.

Merricks holistic line, really good ingrediance for less then 1/2 the cost, it even has bufflo in it! The small bag goes for $7.99 the x large bag $25!

When I got my Golden, Noah, the breeder had him on Canidae. I reasearched a lot, and did a lot of thinking. Since the brand is quite expensive, I wasn't sure I wanted to stay with it. Aside from it being sold in certain store, I haven't had any problems with it! However, Im not sure if it's because its so high quality that when I give Noah treats, certain ones mess him up with really bad gas/runs. So I have to be very careful, and no table scraps. I do think that because there's less filler he gets satisfied with less, and there's less waste! I love this brand. I was thinking of switching my cats to it- but.. I only have the one dog, I have 4 hog cats that eat constantly (two are cornish rex's, super active!), and it wouldn't be cost effective!! They get Natural Choice!

My labs have food allergies. The only food that has seemed to work is Eukanuba large breed lamb & rice.

I wonder if any of you can recommend a good dry food for my pit that has some skin issues, he's got dry flakey skin, he's also prone to sensitive stomach, so I have a hard time switching his food around. I also need the kibble to be small enough my small dogs can eat it too..Any recommendations?
