i have three ducks. i have one mallard and two ducks that i am not sure what they are. at first i thought they were muscovy ducks but they do not have the red on their faces. can anyone tell me what kind they are?
this is a picture with the mallard but what is the other one?

One looks like it may be Blue swedish or a mix and the other looks to large to be mallard, maybe rouen or mix also. they are beautiful.

Well, first, if the mallad is pure, and it isn't, the swede is way way undersized. Also, far too many people associate duck colors with breeds. There are Blue bibed Orpingtons out there you know, (not that I think this is one). The other reason is that we can't see the full type. All ducks more or less have the same look on water. Swimming runners don't look that much different from swimming orpingtons and mallards. Since we don't know about type, and the color (the color of swedes is dominant, so swede crosses sometimes look pure), than we could plausibly assume it is either/or.

Beautiful picture!

The mallard's not pure because if he was a pure wild-type mallard he'd have a white neck ring, and a blue/green wing speculum.

Hi, I just became a member a few minutes ago. The duck is a cross between a pecking and a mallard. I have these in my yard and they look identical.
