Magpie are "Threatened." Anconas are "watch" Most "rare" or "at risk" breeds of ducks are listed as such, but ridiculously easy to find. They're listed as endangered because there are a certain number of breeding stock registered in the US. 1,000 or fewer breeding ducks is "Threatened." But really, they're domestic ducks. Assuming even half of the eggs laid every year are incubated (and if you're registering ducks as breeding stock, you're probably incubating eggs), that population could multiply by a factor of a hundred in a year's time. Of course, genetic diversity's still an issue, but you can have a lack of genetic diversity without having a damaged population; just look at thoroughbred horses.
