What kind of duck is this?

This hatched this morning and I really don't know a thing about ducks nor breeds.

Yeah I thought that but it doesn't have a black bill. Where did you get the egg from?

My best bet is part Rouen but I am not sure????? Where did the egg come from?

It came from Shadyglade, a fellow BYC'r. I sent her a message and directed her toward her grandbaby ducky. Hopefully she'll beable to tell me

Congratulations on the new baby duck. I believe that I sent you a mixed group of eggs and this one looks to be one of my "project duck" offspring. This is the sixth generation of my little breeding program. Does the duckling have any white on the neck where a ring would be in a mallard/roeun drake? It looks in the picture as if it is very light or white there. If so then it ought to be a hen.

Shoot I got so excited by the grand duck pic I posted that before I was finished! The ducks have roeun, khaki campbell, welsh harlequin in the original genetics. I am trying for a sex at hatch coloration in a nice duel purpose bird. I started in 2002 and detoured one year so that generation didn't pan out. Let me know if there is any indication that there is a neck ring or light area on the neck okay?

she has a light strip that runs from wing to wing. It's kinda hard to see in the pic though..
