What kind of feed trough for about 15 hens?

I was thinking I could use a pvc pipe, maybe a 6 inch one, standing upright, load the feed into one end and let the feed go by gravity into say a 90 degree elbow and then into a 3 inch pipe run horizontally about 8 inches off the floor, with the top cut out of the 3 inch pipe so they could get to the feed. I was thinking that if I had the 3 inch pipe go down hill some that the feed would get spread out better and not be all bunched up by the elbow.

Think this would work?

I think you have the right idea, but you will have to try it. Remember you will have to clean it too. Good luck!
