What kind of hen do I have

When I originally got her as a chick the Paper stated "Tetra Black..... Does some one have a better clue. Thanks a million!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That looks like a very red Black Sex-Link. Usually they only have red on their neck and chest.

She could be. If she is a Black Sex-Link (which is an awesome breed, by the way), then that is a sex-linked cross between a red gene male (Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire, etc.) and a barred gene hen (usually Barred Rock), so it's kind of like an "offical" mix. The females are black with red around the neck and chest, and the males are barred. This one is a Black Sex-Link, I'm pretty sure, but one of the parents must have had some different genes to produce so much red.

That's good. Sex-Links are specifically bred to produce lots of eggs in cold weather. I live in Minnesota, and my Red and Black Sex-Links are excellent layers.

I have one just like this! It's label said "Asian Black"
