My friend has an Easter Egger with white earlobes and she has a pea comb. She's pretty unusual and doesn't fit any breed description I know of. The white earlobes are not often seen in a bird with a pea comb. Since you got her from a hatchery, she must be something specific, perhaps an olive egger or Easter egger. Or maybe some other layer strain they offer. I think it is quite possible she is the blue egg layer, since pea combs are associated with blue egg layers.
It looks pretty cool. It makes sense that some would have white earlobes due to crossing with Mediterranean breeds. It's probably because this one lacks muffs that it is so noticeable in her.My friend has an Easter Egger with white earlobes and she has a pea comb.
What other bird did you think was laying blue eggs? McMurray only has 2 blue egg layers, Easter Eggers and Whiting true blues.
This is a Silver Leghorn. This is the hen I thought was my Easter Egger. I was told in a previous post that I made a long time ago that she was likely the Easter Egger. We weren't supposed to have one in the bunch we got. Easter Egger wasn't a possibility for the pack we got, but we got one.View attachment 1544410
