Quarterhorse mare, paint geldin (best all-around ranch horse I've EVER rode, he'll do everything ya want) thouroughbred geldin (fun to ride, not the best cowhorse LOL!) And a yearling QH filly (honery little cuss, but nice lookin, acts/looks a lot like her Ma.)

Every year when I blow out the candles on my birthday cake I still wish for a horse. Im 44.
Tomorrow Im going with a friend of mine to look at a Tennesee Walker. They call him the babysitter and assure me I can ride him

My Honey (husband, best friend, and coolest guy ever) says ok.

I am pysched to say the least. My neighbor will be my teacher.

I bought my first horse for MYSELF on my 40th birthday --
"Ivanhoe" was a 19 year old Arab gelding and I had him for nearly 15 years -- the love of my life!

My husband and I have done some Arab rescue -- loved each and every one of them --

They stay here with us for the rest of their lives (and with Arabs that can be a loooong time!)

Go for it!

I am a terrible (and timid) rider -- last year I took lessons with a bunch of seven year old girls and had the time of my life --

Shandy-Man is my current riding horse -- and we have a 22 year old rescued Arab mare and a rescued mule who is 10 hds. and who can out-smart us all the time -- mules are great!

Welllll. I got up early with a belly ache. Nervous and excited. I mean what in the world do I know about horses?!! Nothing!! Thats what! Its good for you to try new things. Thats what Im telling myself. My horsey buddy called and we are leaving in a half an hour. OH BOY! This horse is gonna love me!!! Im gonna love him! Its gonna be a perfect match!! YIPPPEEEE!! well the man called before we left. he sold the horse last night. hmmmm.
I am gonna be a big girl and not boohoo. My birthday is in November. There are always more birthday candles. I suppose it was meant to be. dang

When it is the right horse, you will know and all things will fall into place.

All my life, I wanted a Draft horse. 4 years ago, I purchased two horses, but as great as they were, they did not fill the draft horse desire.

1.5 years ago, I stumbled upon a rescue group who had a beautiful Belgian mare named Chantilly Lace. I new from the picture, she was the one. Several people had thought about adopting her, but she was thought to have horse asthma (heaves). I went and looked at her and knew she was the one. They had had her for almost a year and she was waiting for me. I got her and my vet has checked her out 3 times since she has arrived. No signs of heaves, perfect health, great to ride. I absolutely love her.

So wipe away the tears and know that "YOUR" horse is waiting for you and you will find it. Don't give up.
