What kind of incubator(s) do you have....

Great post. I am also in the market for a 'bator. It is great to have some insight into what is working.

Any one have direct comparison of results between still air and forced air?

Thanks, Russ

I just bought a second 1202 sportsman last week, I've been hatching out 90 chicks a week and I wasn't keeping up with demand, I'm going to be hatching out 180 chicks a week for quite awhile, there seems to be quite the market for fluffy butts. I modified a reptile incubator I bought from a friend and made it into a hatcher, it works great, keeps the incubators clean and unopened and the eggs that are near hatching moist and warm.

I can proudly say that I have a SPORTSMAN humming away in my dining room!

WooHoo.

Picked it up used for a song just a few days ago! So glad I don't have to rely on my Styrofoam incubators to do all the work now.

I have 2 LG and one hovabator 1583. One LG and the hova have turners, and both have fans as well. I personally love the hova, and will most likely sell at least one of the LG for another hovabator. I never have to adjust the temp, the only time it gets a bit higher is when it gets low on water, other than that it is steady as a rock.
ETA: the hova has button quail, coturnix quail, and bantam barred rock eggs (from AussieSharon) in it, the LG has a few 'home grown' silkies, some 'home grown' ducks, and some cochin bantams from rbamterry. The other LG is the hatcher.

I have a Sportsman 1502 with coturnix, bobwhite, Light Brahmas, Mille Fleurs, silkies, Black Copper Marans, BBS Orpingtons, Dorkings and bourbon red turkeys.
The hovabator has Mallard and Rouen eggs in it.
There are 3 homemades, one of which has pipped bobwhites and coturnix eggs.

Probably about 350 eggs in all incubating right now.
