What kind of movement should I see from a chick born this morning?

My 1st ever chick hatched, it is moving and chirping, what kind of progression should I see? It will move and then rest, but has not gotten fully upright to walk yet, but moving legs and wings and head. Never raised a baby besides horses and they get up right away. what do ya think?

They lay around and sleep A LOT for the first couple of days. I have found it unusual for a chick to jump up and start walking around for over half a day.

Even when they do, they still sprawl out and sleep A LOT!!

It will take awhile for it to be up and alert. Give it 24 hours before you worry. And they don't need food or water for at least 48 hours so no worries there either.
Getting out of that shell is hard work!

thanks guys! I was wondering if it wasn't right, but I will give it more time. now I have to set up a new condo for that one!
