My wife had chickens before. We moved to a semi-rural property and got some again. I am being challenged by my wife to learn about raising them. Right now we bought 6 new chicks and are trying to figure out how to integrate them into the existing flock of 3 hens and two roosters. I was on the forum about integrating and it said that the recommendation is 18 weeks. Just trying to figure out the logistics of having two different areas for the two groups.

We're often integrating here, but when they are the same size, it's much easier. The original hens will try to assert their pecking order, so it may seem like there's some bullying going on, but they generally work through that.
