Well.......................2 of mine stuck their heads in a can of high quality Olympic latex something in a mistint that was more pink than purple. All though they came out with colored heads sneezing and flinging paint everywhere, they had no long term problems.
I use whatever I find in the mistints. I need to take pictures of my Pallet fence around my garden. It's all different colors all mistints. It's GOOD paint. Usually an interior latex, Olympic, Behr or something like that. Only problem with it is the paint was the wrong color when mixed. $5 for a $25 can of paint, I'll buy it everytime!
Our dam broke! 14 million dollars and the first day it was already leaking, I'm sure the gator has moved down Rockfish Creek by now, he moved because of road construction. They tried to remove him and couldn't find him. This is our lake now
I've been researching using white wash to paint my new coop with. It is sooo cheap to make, and I understand it works really well.
ETA: I forgot to say that you can tint white wash any color you like with a water soluble tint of some sort. I have several bottles of acrylic craft paint that I think would work great for tinting.
White wash is basically lime and water. It looks like plaster when it dries. I googled it and found quite a few different recipes, some people add different things to make it more durable or have a shiny finish more like paint. But the basic recipe is just the lime mixed with water and allowed to sit overnight. You can color it any color you like. A bag of lime costs about $7 and will make 5 gallons of white wash.
*I forgot to add that it seals wood, brick or concrete just like paint. It will rub off on you like plaster though.
