What Kind of Predator?

We have a chicken run attached to our coop. Hardware cloth is under the fencing to discourage digging. The entire run is covered with chicken wire and wire fencing. I had placed bricks on the outside of the fencing all around the run. Yesterday I discovered that something had managed to move some bricks and tried to get in. I’m in Maine. What kind of animal would be able to move bricks at night try and get to the chickens?

Bricks are not all that heavy. Even a coon could push them around. Any digging near them could move them.

I would suggest a game cam if you really want to know what is around the coop at night.

Thanks. We thought maybe a raccoon, or skunk? We have since used heavier patio blocks. We have cameras in the run and inside the coop, but can’t see the back of the run, which is where it was digging.
