This little guy is absolutely gorgeous and very sweet. When I pick him up he climbs onto my shoulder and crows, plays with my hair, and nibbles my earrings. When I let him out of the coop in the morning he runs in little circles, pecking my shoes until I pet him. He's very small, so I assumed some sort of bantam, but I don't know much about chicken breeds.

He looks to me like an oegb (Old English Game Bantam) like my Leroy. I would guess his color to be blue wheaton??? Maybe??? I do know he's very beautiful. I wish Leroy was friendly like yours.

When I was searching online, that's the one that I thought he looked most like. Especially the blue old english game bantam. Yours isn't friendly? I was hoping that was a personality trait for the breed.

Well, even a trait for the breed varies from bird to bird. Mine were grown when I got them so I figured they were just never handled. So I hand raise lots of babies and only 2 out of, probably, 75 chicks tamed at all and they are no where near as friendly as yours. On the other hand, lots of folks on this forum have oegb and many of theirs are friendly. It may have a lot to do with bloodline. My chicks came from my oegb who are not friendly, perhaps it's in the genes. Maybe if you found a friendly hen to go with your gorgeous guy the chicks would tame easier than mine.

I just was reading a post about a Barred Rock roo attacking a child while someone else on this forum has a BR roo who's a lap baby.

Thanks! I absolutely adore him! I would buy 20 more just like him, if I knew that they were going to be docile.
