What kind of rooster do I have?

Kudo's to you for taking in a stray. The two sweetest large breed hens I have are red sex link strays that showed up at my door last year.

I've always been a sucker for a stray, so the universe must have sent him my way. Cheers to your stray babies too!

maybe Sussex. I don't really see Orpington in him. I'm guessing he is pretty big

Might be a French Black Copper Maran (because of the feathered feet). Whatever he is, he's GORGEOUS.

I didn't know much about chickens, especially not roosters, but after I saw that they end up getting the short end of the stick in life a lot of times, I couldn't turn him away! I'm glad he found me.

I'm sorry for your loss! My Rusty definitely looks a lot like him. He's got to have some BCM in him somewhere.

He's fairly large, but not HUGE. I'd guess maybe eight pounds from the few times I picked him up. I just finally stopped lurking and started posting today! Is my profile pic supposed to be me or my rooster?
