What kind of silkie is this?

I still think its a Lavendar AKA Self Blue. I would guess pullet unless it starts crowing and then it would be a rooster!

Is it getting spur marks on its legs? Does it make different sounds from the others? Does it call the others?
I have three Lavs and its much nicer than mine!

It's a splash. A lavender does not have any dark feathering. It is a solid even color.

Thanks everyone. It does have some real dark feathers here and there. Ugly looking bugger. I am trying to sell it. Maybe I will wait until the trade shows in the spring. Maybe someone will buy he/she. I bought the eggs from feathersandfleece.com. They sent two extra eggs one being the splash. I wish the extras had been white silkie eggs. I did manage 3 white ones out of 8 eggs. I don't have good luck with that incubator. All but one was fertile. That is pretty darn good I think. I really like the white silkies that hatched. They are so different than the black copper marans. What a contrast.

I don't think your little Silkie is ugly at all...of course I am not one to care about whether one conforms to a certain color or fullness of fluff or stature. She's really a pretty color and so fluffy. I have a little smoke-colored Silkie that when wet he has white feathers at the roots and pale grayblue feathers the rest of the way out. When completely dry he is a beautiful smoke color...dark gray in some areas and very light gray in others. Anyway, I think she's beautiful. I wonder what would happen if you mixed her with a white or black Silkie rooster. Why don't you try that?
