Can you get a close up of it's leaves and ... ?seed pods... what ever the yellow is? If no one here can id it, you should be able to e-mail your pic to your county agricultural extension office and they should be able to help you, or perhaps a local nursery.
To me it looks like a golden rain tree.

your right its a black locust. Because it only has 1 thorn at the junction of leaf stem and main branch. If it was honey locust it would have a lot more thorns in fact it would look bout like a porcupine you'll have a ball of thorns with a single thorn stem
