I recently bought these turkeys at a sale just because i felt so bad for them! I am 19 and am a VERY devoted chicken lover! I spend most of my free time coming up with new ideas for chicken coops and finding new breeds of chickens! However, the owner was not sure of what breed they were. The previous owner I could tell did not know a whole lot about chickens or turkeys in general, kind of one those people that go awww thats cute let's get it but have absolutely no knowledge on how to keep them. So stating what I've put I have no clue what these four little guys are. I'm anxiously awaiting to find out there sex! I believe (with some intense research) that these are a Bourbon Red Turkey...but I'd like some other opionions!

Maybe bourban red or one Of the buff varieties.

And I had the same issue at a swap I went to and got a tom turkey who once I got him home noticed he was so confused about grass. And being able to play in open fields! Poor guy he was sick and looked so sad the kid didn't know what he was

Thanks guys. Yes it is quite tragic when i see someone who has absolutely no clue what their doing! Ughh it bothers me, it would be like having a baby and neglecting it. It's not fair to the animal at all. These guys are quite calm believe it or not, I was quite shocked! Usually the birds I get are extremely wild but eventually they all calm down and love me to pieces(maybe its because i give them food? lol)
thanks again!
So these guys will be huge if I'm not correct?

Well I shall prepare myself for the big turkeys then! Yes, my turkey are quite calm however the new chickens I got...woo...that's all i can say. Very frigid animals and they freak out easy. Not at all like my other ones!

They'll come around in time. I know this is off topic but question (since im new to the turkey world)
How much do these turkeys usually go for?

And, my one turkey has a bad eye...his other eye is perfectly fine! I'm sad to say it but I really don't want to have to put him down.

I hate doing it unless its absolutely necessary! Or for meat! His eye is slightly closed but it's like a tiny little slit that he can see out of..almost like he has something pushing his eye shut from the inside out. If that at all makes any sense. :|

I tried a warm wash cloth up against his eye but no relief yet!
Any ideas what could have cause this?
Here is me with my turkey, no name yet as I do not know the gender of it! Sadly enough these birds were gonna be for meat..but as luck would have it...they grew on me in two days. I love them to pieces, very friendly and very calm!
If anyone has heard or seen anything like this will you PLEASE let me know what's wrong with this little guy!!!
