What kind of water?

Thanks to everyone for their replies. It wasn't that I was worried the water was dangerous- it was really the chlorine and fluoride I'm concerned about. I've filled the new waterer with tap water and left it sit for an hour for some of the chlorine to dissipate. I gave it to them sitting on an overturned casserole dish to raise it up. They absolutely loved it- and then managed to overturn it. My watermelon box brooder won't last past tomorrow now. I guess I'll be finishing off that coop sooner rather than later.
