What kind of wood for a chicken coop?

My old coop finally bit the dust. I am in the process of having the coop rebuilt. Orginally I used exterior plywood(?) on a redwood base. It actually lasted about 25 years but now is rotted. The person who is going to build it mentioned pressure treated wood but I think that may have nasty things in it. What is safe to use around the girls?

I used treated wood for anything that touched the ground for the housing, and treated for everything in my run, cause I didn't want to paint it to help it last.... Modern pressure treated wood is not the same as the old time stuff...

I question whether pressure-treated plywood is really worth the extra cost and the environmental concerns (not so much with it standing there in your yard as with just causing more p/t wood to be *produced*, unnecessarily). 25 years is a pretty good length of time for plywood to last. Would it really be so terrible if the next recladding lasts "only" another 25 years?
