What kind of yogurt?

They can, but I'd go easy on that, better not to. Or mix it with something like crumbles or oatmeal, like the posts above.

We give all of ours, big and little, plain yogurt with active cultures. They don't like it by itself so with the little ones I spread some in the bottom of a flat pan and sprinkle their chicken starter crumbles on top of it. As soon as I put the pan in the brooder, the chicken feeding frenzy begins. It is so fun to watch them push and shove to get in the pan. I have multiple ages in the brooder. They are 1 week to 4 week olds and the little ones push right in the middle of the bigger ones to get the treats! Our older chickens get some plain yogurt every morning mixed with cooked steel cut oats or left over cooked brown rice. I usually mix in a chopped tomato and whatever other chicken treat I can find. They love it!

I give them the Greek Yogurt too :0) (no added sugars in it). The first time, they were not to excited about it, but now they dive right in. It's hysterical!

Greek yogurt is higher in protein. We have both kinds and the Greek has 12 grams of protein per cup while the Mountain High plain yogurt has 11 grams per cup. One other thing to consider is the sugar content. The Greek yogurt that we have has half the amount of sugar as the regular plain yogurt.

Well the vanilla yogurt was a BUST! I had one chick to try it and she did NOT like it. Even tried the eggs with them and they all scattered to the other side of the brooder, would not come no where near it, is that normal (I hate that word by the way).

It's because it's new and different. They are real chickens when it comes to new stuff!

Put some in a pan. Sprinkle chick starter on it. They will be cautious at first but once one of them figures it out, they'll attack it with a vengeance
