I went to go get some chicks but there were so many to chose from. What is a good kind to get? I want one that lays eggs regally and is dual purpose

- leghorns are very good egg layers they lay white eggs the egg size are jumbo
- dominquers lay brown eggs and the egg size is large
- black astruples are good one they lay brown eggs and the egg size is large
- golden comets are good they lay brown eggs and the egg size is large
- red stars are good they lay brown eggs and there egg size is large
- black stars is the same as the red stars

THE WHITE LEGHORNS IS THE CHICKENS THEY USE TO PUT EGGS IN THE STORE THEY LAY EXELLENT

If you're looking for a dual purpose bird, or live in a cold environment then I don't reccommend leghorns. Leghorns are generally not a meaty bird and don't dress out well. Also, their large combs and wattles make them susceptible to frostbite, so if your climate is cold, you'll have to pay extra attention to them or dub them.

Dominiques are an excellent dual purpose breed. The breed is attractively colored and cold-hardy. Hens are good layers of large brown eggs and rooster dress out decently! (don't expect an equivalent to Cornish X though)

If you're looking for something a little outside the box, Easter Eggers make a good dual purpose breed, and they lay a good sized blue, green, olive or pink egg
