I have a boy/girl pair. One is taller than the other and the taller one is the only one that HISS's. They are so cool. Really mellow and pretty! Mine do not fly, they are in my shack with a 6 ft high kennel for a run.
I'm feeding Flock Grower "raiser". Is that the right stuff or do they need more protein??
Thanks
Christina

How old? I live in IL..shipping could be difficult if to old.. Other than that I'd love to have them!!! As long as they are not $42 a pc...I have been pricing them as goslings..
Are they male or female also...cause if this is a man, he may need a woman!! LOL!

Yup thats a pair. Male is on the left and the female is on the right.

as a rule toulouse do not fly.. they will not run away once they get used to eating at your place..

I would not clip their wings.. they look pathetic with their wings clipped.

however, my neighbor did have a dozen geese that would fly a quarter mile down the valley to the creek and fly back.. One of them hit a highline and killed itself.
but that was the only instance of tame geese flying that far and that high that I have ever heard of..

In the summer, I put my geese into the pen with a 4 foot high chainlink fence.. they stay in just fine..

We had a small flock of toulouse geese who could fly. A few times they flew from my yard (5 acres), across my house, across my neighbor's house, across the road, and to the next neighbors. I don't know what happened to make them decide to fly away, but it was an awesome sight, seeing those huge ol' geese in the air. When it happened, I sent the kids to herd them home, and they all came back, happily walking.
