What made this?

I just saw this big black animal walking behind my chicken coop!! I got the gun and ran out to find these prints. What made them?The track was in a almost straight line.

Dh has a size 10 foot.

I think it is some sort of feline too. Cats walk with their back paws falling right into the place where their front paw had been, hence the all in one line.

It was some sort of cat I think and I dont think it was a Fisher.

Whatever it was, could you just tranquilize it instead of shooting it? I'll come get it and set it on the #*@^% coyotes that roam in my back yard and thumb their noses at my German Shepherds. (I won't even let my GSs roam loose at night, because I know they'd be shreaded by the coyotes.)
