What made you happy today?

Our dog Cleo was facing away from the rocking chair, where her buddy Deborah aka Little Debbie (cat) was sleeping. Cleo started wagging her tail, which slapped Debbie in the face, repeatedly. Debbie tried to grab Cleo's tail, while Cleo was oblivious to what was happening behind her. I wish I could have gotten a video of it, it made me laugh so hard.

I hauled the unsplit stuff up the hill and stacked it. Hubby cut them yesterday. It's from a maple that blew down last summer. It needs to get split and sit for a year. Next season's wood.
Always nice to plan ahead and be prepared

Oh yeah. We burn a lot of wood. Mother Nature gave us some "volunteer" firewood for next year.
We burn a lot too, all winter long actually. My sister had some trees cut down a few years ago, lots of work but loved the free wood

We had 4 trees that were too close to the house taken down 3 years ago. $4000. We kept all the wood and the wood chips. They charged for the felling (and bucking, ie, cut to length), and we got a LOT of firewood.

Hubby is handy with a chainsaw, but when they're that close to the house -- could touch the house and the tree at the same time -- he knows to let professionals do it.

I was planning on keeping the girls in their run today, yet 2 of the girls escaped when I went to add water. The remaining “cell mates” went crazy, tweeting and flapping their wings. So I opened the door and the ladies free ranged for about 2 hours. I hung out in a lawn chair and managed to give a few of them some cuddles and love. They so enjoyed being out in the yard. Expecting lots of snow over the next few days and the girls won’t be getting out in the snow. I so enjoy the girls, so much fun! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
