What made you happy today?

 Oops, looked more closely. Although much broke off and is on the front lawn, some is hanging by a vine over the power line and cable line . Reported to JCP&L, but since it is not 'downed' lines or power outage we will be the last to be serviced on this very windy day.
Good luck, Sour! Hoping the best for you! ❤️🙏❤️

Leftovers! 😃

Also: the solo EE we put in with the three sisters is doing better and better. She is gaining confidence. At first she spent most of her time on the roost and on top of the feeder and nest box to stay out of reach of any pecks but now she spends most of her time on the ground with the other three.

She came running for treats today with the others. She is more assertive about claiming a place next to them on the roost at night. Sometimes she even pecks back instead of running away.

This evening I saw her jump up on the roost and give a quick don't-even-think-about-starting-anything-I'm-sleeping-here peck to the hen next to her. The other hen ducked her head but didn't peck back and they were fine.

Her head is up, her eyes are bright, her carriage is much more confident. I love how animals rise to the occasion if you give them the chance to succeed. 🥰

She's doing well enough that we dismantled her old pen today (we called it her 'apartment'). We're pretty sure they'll be able to work everything out.

:hugs❤️ I am so happy to hear that your lovely EE is doing well and gaining her confidence. This is what make all the hard work worth it.❤️

It nearly moved me to tears. We've had so many problems with this flock getting along and she was so sad on her own. She would much rather be negotiating a place with the three sisters than be by herself. Seeing her happy is wonderful. I love watching her stretch to her fullest length and proudly flap her wings. "Haha! I'm finally here!"

The next step is integrating these four with the group of five (which is the remaining eight minus the three biggest bullies, who are in a separate pen). But I want to let these four spend more time together, first.
