And the furnace went out today. Oh joy

I'm so cold that my teeth were chattering (not really)

I was able to get a refill kit, refillable 1lb kegs and a 20lb tank today! Friend is taking me to get the 20lb tank filled tomorrow so I will be sorted for the coming snow!

To the tune of $850. Defective gas valve.

Sounds ouchie! Don't you have a cushion? I got me a nice big fat one with a hole in the middle. Worth every penny! Except pennies are extinct. So worth every nickle.

I do have a cushion! Gives me a whopping 5-10 minutes before I need to get up, but it’s something.

A proper fire in the wood stove is making me VERY happy! Especially after I just came in from cleaning the hen house. It's 24°F out there, Feels Like 12. Or so they say. Feels colder than that to me!

Rain! So rare and so nice here. It also means free food for the chickens in a few days: grass shoots, pigweed (amaranth), and dandelions. They love dandelions.

Guess what? I fixed my furnace by myself. That makes me (genuinely) happy. The repair techs were ignorant, or a bunch of shysters. It did cost me 5 gallons of kerosene however.

Woo-hoo I can actually say I am happy. That's a first on here. see the pretty flame.

It should be there by 5PM. It's been a good desert rain, light and steady enough to soak into the aquifers but not flood anywhere. I hope it's the same for you!
