School was cancelled again today because we had freezing rain

They were talking on the news that the Grand Rapids, MI school district has used up its allotment of snow days. Not sure what they will do if there are more cancellations.

They add more school days at the end of the year to make up for the extra days missed.

OhMaGosh! I just realized where you're located ... we're practically neighbors! Is the little antique and craft store still there, across from the old train station? That used to be a frequent haunt ... SO many neat treasures to drag home!
THAT realization and the memories (and potential plans) it dug up just made me REALLY happy!

It depends on the district and state. Ohio does not go by days required anymore but by hours. Monday the 9th was a scheduled day off for us but that was taken away so we don't have issues. We have 5 more days we can be off but with it being only the begining of Feb the superintendent is nervous. If we have to, we will go the day after Easter, which we have off now. Our early release days have become normal school days now, too. We will also do online learning before we add on days to the end of the year

It got warmer today than we have been, up to almost 30° which was nice. Went outside with just a sweatshirt on

My sister and her family are coming over tomorrow for a taco bar and to watch Redneck Brawl. It's hilarious fighting and the fighters are terrible! But the commentators are so funny. Tomorrow is Michigan vs Ohio
