What made you happy today?

My friend received the chemo hat I made and sent. Just in time: her hair started falling out in clumps, so she shaved it off today.

Yesterday, she texted me that her "marker" number has dropped. It started out at 2000 -- normal is 0 to 35. It has fallen to 436 after one chemo session.

Playing ping pong with friends. I laughed so hard I could scarcely stand
And playing cribbage with my dad and brother.
And playing spot-it in a hodgepodge of English, Latin, and German with my little brother.
It was a good day for games

90°F here! And the winter storm blew all our daffodils, forsythia and redbud blooms away. BUT I'm still HAPPY! Because I put five eggs in the incubator a week ago as testers, and tonight, they ALL HAVE VEINS!
My Ameraucana cockerels are ... er ... MACHO!
I have a request for two dozen hatching eggs, they have already been prepped, and will be delivered locally tomorrow. I'm SO EXCITED! This is the first time I have done this!

So, the people that I got Fluffy from (9 year old cat) are clearing out their mom's place. Fluffy was hers, and they couldn't keep her. They put an ad out for some free orchids, so I contacted them and went over. I not only got a beautiful one with purple flowers, but one that isn't flowering yet. In addition, they gave me a very nice TV, so hopefully later today I'm going to have my first working TV in almost 4 years!

I'll be able to watch my DVDs again!
