Chickens are captive bred,not wild caught.That alone makes chickens better then many pets( lizards,hermit crabs, fish) they are not hurting a wild population and carry wierd new illnesses.
Chickens make the owner breakfast( never saw my dog do that, she has aten it on me though)
Chickens do not get rabies, distemper
Chickens have a ability to go outside when cold,many pet birds would get sick
chickens are quiter then many pets( yappy dogs, screaming parrots, children
Chickens have great personalities and reconstructive surgery cause by them is more then rare.
Chickens have the ability to find food for themself( my fish and dogs expect me to feed them 100% of the time, how rude)
Chickens come is assorted types, every breed looks differant but in the end you still get an egg, other pets like dogs come in differant sizes but not all perform the same( a tea cup dog will not protect you, a large breed dog does not fit well in purses!
