what material for roof?

My coop is almost finished. What material is best used for the roof? I was thinking of a metal roof...? I saw the cutest coop (on mypetchicken.com) that I am using for mine and he used a metal roof.

We have wood shakes on our 2 coops, IMO it is cooler than metal (my husband is a roofing contractor)

I just used the light grey rolls of roofing material on mine. It was free so I couldn't complain!
