Yes, but I noticed that the grower feed is a few less percentage points than starter, so I continued (I had about a weeks worth left) with the starter and started mixing in the grower.

Many continue chick starter feed until the 18th week, which is perfectly all right. Some say sixteen weeks. I have never seen where you should switch to grower feed at six weeks. In reality though, you can probably feed them just about anything. In the old days cracked corn and free ranging was just about all they got.
